A custom MES for precast-concrete production.

This project brought production-stage tracking, scheduling, quality records, and equipment data into a custom manufacturing application. The client’s made-to-order process needed more detail than a generic production workflow provided.

Discuss a manufacturing application

The workflow

Precast production involves form preparation, pouring, curing, finishing, and inspection. Jobs compete for resources, and environmental conditions can matter during curing. The application needed to represent these stages and the information required at each step.

My role and the application scope

I built the custom manufacturing execution platform around that production model. The work included production-cycle tracking, scheduling and resource allocation, digital inspection records, dashboards, and environmental monitoring.

Connected systems

The platform connected production workflows with ERP data, IoT sensors, automated machinery, and management reporting. Temperature and humidity information formed part of the curing-related data available to operations.

What the software enabled

The system gave the operation a way to track work through its production stages and bring quality, scheduling, and related data into the same application.

Where this experience applies

Similar work may be useful when an ERP does not represent a specialized production process, or when work-in-progress and inspection records are spread across separate tools. See custom manufacturing software development for the service scope.
