Experience behind the advice

I have built and led a 20-person engineering organization with responsibility across architecture, delivery, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, cybersecurity, and quality assurance. I also continue to work directly on applications.

A defined scope rather than an open-ended title

We agree on the decisions, responsibilities, and cadence for the engagement. A focused review might produce findings and recommendations; an ongoing role might include architecture reviews, vendor oversight, and regular delivery discussions.

Can you also implement the changes?

Yes, when the work fits the engagement. Advisory responsibility and development scope should be clear so everyone knows who is making decisions and who is delivering the changes.

Is this general IT support?

No. The focus is software development, architecture, engineering teams, and technology decisions. Desktop support and help-desk administration are outside that focus.
